Monique was rescued from a live meat market along with her sisters. The animals are kept in small, filthy cages, and the customers pick one out and the animal is processed right then and there. They were able to be bought live and brought to The Gentle Barn to live out the rest of their lives in love, kindness, dignity, respect, and safety. Monique loved her sisters, explored the barnyard daily, rested under shade trees, bathed in the sun, enjoyed fresh organic produce, music therapy, and acupuncture. One day all chickens will live this loved life!
