A hero was at a gas station and saw a truck full of baby pigs that were going to be fattened up for slaughter. He could see that the piglets were hot and dehydrated and noticed one at the very back who was the smallest, completely lethargic. The man asked if he could buy her, and then drove her 9 hours from Illinois to us in Tennessee. Lillie was only 6 weeks old when she came to us, and after bottle feeding, tummy rubs, and holding her in our arms, she grew big and strong and happy. Lillie will spend the rest of her life with us at The Gentle Barn Tennessee teaching people how intelligent, affectionate and loving pigs are. We know she is going to continue to open hearts, and hopefully one day we will have a world where there are no trucks of piglets to be rescued!
