Audrey and her daughter, Truth, were rescued from going to slaughter. Audrey had lived at that farm her whole life, kept eternally pregnant, and had her babies taken away each year to be sent to slaughter. We are not sure why she and her tiny daughter were being sent away, but thank goodness we found them and brought them to The Gentle Barn instead. Audrey was scared and worried at first, but with music, a warm soft bed, fresh hay, clean water, and lots of bedtime cookies, she began to trust us.

It turns out that Audrey was pregnant when we brought her home because Six months later Audrey gave birth to her youngest daughter, Love at The Gentle Barn. The three of them will live together for the rest of their lives. Seeing that we were respecting her right as a mother and not taking her babies away, Audrey soon learned that people can be kind and the world can be good. Audrey will live the rest of her life with both daughters and will show the world that mommies and babies should always be together.
